Turn a line of a note into a card on the board
"Kanban for notes" is one of the searches that keeps growing this year. Here is the one move in TaskNote that answers it: select a line, make it a task, and it lands on the board with the note still attached.
People search for "kanban board for notes" and "notes with tasks" far more than they did a year ago. The reason is simple: a note is where a thought starts, and a board is where it gets done, and most apps make you choose one or the other.
In TaskNote the two are one thing. Select any line in a note, choose Create task, and that line becomes a card on the board. The card keeps a link back to the note, so the context never gets lost: open the card, and the note it came from is one click away.
What the board gives you
- Three columns by default: To Do, In Progress, Done. Rename them, add more, set a card limit per column.
- A due date, a checklist and a timer on every card. Start the timer when you begin, and the card shows how long the task has taken.
- Drag between columns. Done is done; the note stays.
Where it is
The board lives under the Tasks tab. Three boards are free, on the web and in the Windows app. If you already have a note with a list of things to do, that is the fastest place to start: turn the first three lines into cards and see how it feels.
