Privacy Policy

Our stance on privacy

TaskNote encrypts your notes on your device. Your encryption key stays only with you. We do not store your key and we cannot read your notes.

About TaskNote

Important

If you lose your encryption key file, encrypted notes cannot be recovered. This is by design.

How encryption works

Notes are encrypted locally before they are sent to our servers.

Our servers store only encrypted data. Decryption happens only on your device after you import your key file.

Key backup

After you sign in, TaskNote may ask you to download or import a key file on this device.

Save your key file in a secure place.

Using TaskNote on a new device

Sign in first. Then import your key file on that device.

Once the key is imported, notes decrypt locally on that device.

Accounts and password

Your password is for account access.

It does not let us decrypt your notes and it cannot be used to recover your encryption key file.

Infrastructure security

Encrypted data is stored in Supabase. Connections to our servers use HTTPS.

Deleting your data

You control your content.

If you delete a note, it is removed from your device and deleted from our servers immediately.

No. We do not have a copy of your encryption key. If you lose it, we cannot help you recover your notes. This ensures that only you have access to your data.
