Delete your data

You own what you write in TaskNote. This page says how to remove it, in the app or entirely, and what happens on our side.

Delete notes, boards and folders yourself

In the web app, delete a note, a card or a folder and it is removed from our servers at once; there is no trash that keeps a copy. To clear everything, open the command palette (Ctrl+K), export your notes first if you want a copy ("Download all notes"), then delete them. In the Windows app everything lives in a local database on your computer; uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder removes it, and nothing was ever sent to us.

Delete your account

Send an email to hi@task-note.com from the address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my TaskNote account". We delete the account, every encrypted note and board, your profile, and the record of your email in our mailing service within 30 days, and confirm by email when it is done. Payment records required by law stay with the payment provider for the period the law requires; they contain no note content.

Note content is encrypted with a key only you hold, so even before deletion nobody at TaskNote can read it.

Data from Threads, Instagram or Facebook

TaskNote's Threads integration is used by our own team account to read public posts and publish our own. We do not collect or store data about other people's Threads, Instagram or Facebook accounts. If you believe we hold any data about you from these services, email the address above and we will delete it within 30 days.
