A developer workspace in TaskNote, notes beside a board

Snippets and notes on them, found in seconds

Paste the snippet, write down why it works and what it fixed, and find it again with full text search. No more digging through chat history for the one shell command that worked three months ago.

  • Code blocks in a monospaced face
  • Full text search across everything
  • Prose around the code: headings, lists, links
  • Search looks inside the code blocks too

A board of your own, without setting up Jira

Track your own work without creating a project or dragging a team into a shared board. Move things through to do, doing and done. Every card opens into a full note for the specification and the context.

  • A drag and drop board, on the free plan
  • A real editor behind every card
  • Columns named the way you work
  • Reminders on any task or note

Keys and tokens, encrypted where you write them

Keeping credentials in a plain notes app is a bad habit. Here every note is encrypted on your device before it syncs, so a breach of our servers exposes ciphertext. For a whole team's secrets you still want a proper secrets manager.

  • End to end encryption on every note
  • Reasonable for your own keys and tokens
  • We cannot read your content, by design
  • The key never leaves your device

Linux, Mac, Windows, and simply the browser

It runs in any browser with nothing to install. Chrome, Firefox or Brave, on whatever you use. Pin the tab or install it as a web app, and it syncs to the phone by itself.

  • Linux included, in Chrome, Firefox or Brave
  • Mac, Windows and Chromebook as well
  • Nothing to install, no administrator rights
  • Syncs to iPhone and Android

Questions from developers

Can I keep code snippets in it?

Yes. Notes take code blocks in a monospaced face. Paste the snippet, write the context around it, and full text search will find it later, code included.

Is it any good for tracking my own tasks?

That is what the board is for. Move things across to do, doing and done, and keep the specification, the links and the checklist in the note behind each card.

Are API keys safe in it?

Notes are encrypted on your device before they sync, so we cannot read them and a breach of our servers yields ciphertext. For your own keys that is reasonable. For a team's shared secrets, use a proper secrets manager, which does rotation and auditing as well.

Is there Markdown?

The editor takes Markdown shortcuts as you type: # for a heading, ** for bold, a dash for a list. Code blocks come out monospaced, and export is Markdown too.

Is it free?

The core is: notes, the board, reminders and end to end encryption, with no card details asked for.

Does it work on Linux?

Yes, in any browser. Chrome, Firefox or Brave on Linux, Mac, Windows or anything else. There is nothing to install.
